Thailand

We are in Thailand meeting with our co-workers and getting Caleb's visa so we can return to India. We decided to get a stroller while we were here. I am not sure how much I will be able to use it in Shillong, but Caleb really seems to like it.

First Christmas

Caleb is thinking, "I know, I know...too much handsome!" Our friends in India like to tell us that he is TOO much handsome!

Well, Caleb's first Christmas was certainly not what I had planned. We weren't even sure we would be able to make it home for Christmas. We spent the week before Christmas in the hospital in Delhi. We were finally able to convince the doctors to let me (Michelle) come home for Christmas with an IV port in my arm. So, we spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Shillong and left again the day after Christmas. So, all my wonderful ideas to have Caleb's first Christmas full of family traditions and many memories didn't quite pan out. Instead, we got two photos, dinner with friends and lots of fellowship with nationals. While it wasn't what I had dreamed it would be, God blessed us with something a bit different.

Old Man

As his grandad said, "just call him Friar Tuck!" We refer to this as his "old man" hair. It isn't as pronounced in this picture, but believe me, it's there!

Tummy Time!

Something I have heard continuously since Caleb was born is the importance of tummy time. So, like a good mother, I have tried to give Caleb some tummy time. He doesn't mind tummy time, but he usually looks at us like we are crazy. I think he must wonder what we are trying to do to him! I can just see him saying, "what are we doing here people?"

The Love of Christ

Caleb has already been such a wonderful addition to our ministry. He opens doors and hearts in ways that we would never have dreamed. We pray that nationals will see the love of Christ in his contagious smile. He is constantly giving away smiles to anyone willing to look at him. We sat next to a Buddhist woman from Laos on one of our many plane rides. He was just grinning, playing and talking to her the entire time. She loved it! We had such a wonderful time. I even was able to use the meaning of his name to share a bit of the Gospel with this woman. All praise and glory to the God who created this smiling baby!

2 Month Photos

I realize that as I write this post, Caleb is nearly three months old. However, these pictures were taken when he was only two months. We are just now getting time to post some things though. He had he two month photo shoot looking down into Bangladesh from India! What memories!

Ingenuity

Sometimes while living overseas, one must be a bit resourceful in order to accomplish tasks that might seem simple to the average person. In the pic above, Jared is using our luggage scale to weigh Caleb. First he weighs the sling, then he puts Caleb in and subtracts the difference. This was the only consistent way we were able to find to keep track of Caleb's weight gain.
