Teeth

I was waiting to post another picture of Caleb's teeth because it looked like he was getting several more. However, they failed to push through his gums and have disappeared again...so, here are his two bottom teeth from last month! Ignore the spit up remnant on his tongue and enjoy the pearly whites!

Overalls

I was sorting through Caleb's clothes last week - putting away things he has outgrown and getting out new outfits that fit him now. This seems to be the season for overalls. I don't think there is anything cuter than my baby boy in his too cute overalls! He doesn't look like a baby anymore though!

Playing with mom in his room!

Getting ready to go on a trip up the hill with Dad!

Getting ready for church.

Apparently cracking himself up!!

5 Months

While we were in Thailand at the hospital, we started to feel bad that our 4 1/2 month old son had never had a stuffed animal. So, we found this little animal for our little guy. He plays with it on occasion, it isn't his favorite toy, but we are guilt free knowing that our son is no longer the "poor kid without a stuffed animal!"

Now I only have to feel guilty that I am just now posting his 5 month pictures the day after he turned 6 months old! Either way - he is as cute as a button and every bit has fun and happy as he looks in the pictures. Not a day goes by that he doesn't make us smile!

Lest You Think He's Perfect...

So often, people ask us if Caleb ever cries. Well, some of that is proof that you only get glimpses of this sweet smiling face! On the other hand, he really doesn't cry very often at all anyway. So, one day I felt compelled to photograph his crying session. You can see in the progression of pictures what took place in about 20 seconds!

In this first photo - he is quite upset that I have not picked him up off the bed...

Now he is deciding it isn't sooo bad....

And finally he decides it is more fun to laugh than it is to cry!

Our friend Kari tells us all the time that he has the cutest cry. I'll admit, I am not usually thinking it is so cute while he is crying, but sometimes it is a sweet little cry that makes you just want to hug him (and trust me - we do!)!

Oh where, oh where has my baby boy gone?

Our sweet little baby boy is 5 months old now! He is getting so big and each day he does something new. I am treasuring those fleeting moments when he just lets me hold him and cuddle him. I have to catch him when he is sleepy otherwise he won't sit still! So, at night, I cuddle him and sing to him and try and etch those memories in my heart where they can never be lost or forgotten.

Okay, you have to look really, really close, but there is a tooth on the bottom! He got his first tooth this week! He got his second tooth two days later. Jared took this photo before he left. I tried to get a shot of the second tooth, but that ended with a teary eyed baby and a frustrated mom! So, this will have to do for now but trust me when I tell you they are the cutest little teeth I have ever seen!

This has been a week of firsts! First teeth and first time to eat cereal! We obviously took a gazillion pictures of his first meal, but he was too cute to resist. He absolutely loved it! His first bite he was a little confused but after that it was smooth sailing. Now he can't seem to get enough of the stuff. I can't shovel it in fast enough!

I think we need a bigger tub!

And this...well this is our little boogey-head. He keeps us smiling!

Sweet Friends

Our friends, Lal and Jenni, came over one day for lunch with their two kids, Niang (girl) and Mang (boy). Mang wanted to carry Caleb everywhere, but that made me very nervous; Caleb is a big boy and Mang is pretty young. So, we compromised and had them sit on the couch - especially since Niang wanted to carry Caleb as well!

I am pretty sure Niang has her thumb in Caleb's ear, which he obviously thinks is hysterical. It doesn't take much to crack this little guy up!

Carrying Our Boy

Caleb loves to be carried around in this wrap. It is an insanely long piece of fabric that I tie around myself and strap him in! It is incredibly comfortable and the locals think it is great.

While we were in Thailand, I forgot to bring anything to carry Caleb in. So, I tied this shawl around my shoulders and plopped him in! He like to be carried around my middle, but he didn't care for riding on my hip so much...

We went shopping for fruits and vegetables one day and Caleb giggled and shrieked the entire time! He also hangs out like this with me in the house while I clean things up or make lunch.
